Meet a Real Socialist!

In the Washington Times on November 19, 2013, President Obama declared:

“People call me a socialist sometimes. But, no, you’ve got to meet real socialists. You’ll have a sense of what a socialist is,” Mr. Obama said. “I’m talking about lowering the corporate tax rate. My health-care reform is based on the private marketplace."

We agree, Mr. President.  You are certainly no socialist. You seem to be so frustrated that you have been labeled a Socialist that you are encouraging people to "Meet an actual Socialist".

We're just as frustrated that you are being labeled a Socialist-you really ARE NOT one! Let us help you out on this one.

People, send us your photo holding a sign "I'm a Socialist" or "Actual Socialist" with your first name (if you want) and other info (city & state encouraged but not necessary).  E-mail them to

Congratulations to Kshama Sawant!

The Socialist Party USA  and the Socialist Party of Texas would like to congratulate Kshama Sawant and her campaign to win a seat on Seattle’s City Council.

Challenging the two-party stranglehold on electoral politics as an openly socialist candidate
requires tremendous courage and dedication. The fact that Kshama stands
poised to claim victory is nothing short of astounding and should give us
all inspiration as we ponder future progress in the electoral arena. Her
message of human needs and environmental sanity has resonated with a public
ready to fight corporate greed, and the Socialist Party USA recognizes the
significance of what Kshama’s campaign has accomplished.

"Boycott Maximus Coffee!"

The workers have returned to work, but are still in contract negotiations. It is important to keep up the pressure on management to bargain fairly so that the workers have a living wage and decent benefits.

Please share the petition with friends, family, co-workers and urge them to sign as well. You can also send the link out via Facebook or other social media. The link is
